What does MCT stand for?
MCT stands for Medium Chain Triglyceride.
What are the benefits of MCTs?
This unique fatty acid is absorbed immediately into the liver and used by the body as instant energy or converted into ketones, which allows the liver to break down fat to be used as fuel (in a fasted state). The calories contained in MCTs are more efficiently turned into energy than other fatty acids and only a very small percentage is stored as fat. MCTs are found primarily in coconut oil and fractionated coconut oil (often called liquid coconut oil or MCT oil).
What is the percentage breakdown of MCTs in your MCT oil?
The minimum for C8 is 50%; the minimum for C10 is 40%, and the max for C12 (or lauric acid) is 9%.
Can I consume MCT oil on my diet?
Yes, it’s Paleo, keto, vegan and Mediterranean Diet friendly.
