Ahhh, fall is in the air and while you’re loving this time of year and spending your crisp days and chilly night all bundled up with your loved ones basking in the delicious aromas of your favorite autumn meals, your skin might not feel the same way. This time calls for some extra hydration and what better way to do it than by using a moisturizing bar soap?

It can be quite hard finding a soap that has all natural ingredients and smells like fall while protecting and hydrating your skin. Lucky for you, this recipe takes minutes to make, smells amazing and helps keep your skin smooth and supple. What’s even better about this recipe, is it doesn’t take much to make it.

Apple and Pumpkin Spice Bar Soap

This bar soap has all of your favorite autumn aromas with none of the extra additives you find in your commercially sold soaps. The base of this soap is shea butter soap, which is free of all surfactants and propylene glycol. It contains shea butter and is smooth, creamy and rich with natural emollient properties and contains no alcohol or harmful products that dry your skin.

Add that with a bit of coconut oil, apple cider fragrance oil and orange essential oil and you have your very own body soap that smells like fall. But, wait, we can’t forget the pumpkin pie spice that brings everything together.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of Shea butter soap base
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice
  • 10 drops of apple cider fragrance oil
  • 5 drops of sweet orange essential oil

Instructions:

  • Cut the block of shea butter soap in squares and place it along with the coconut oil in a bowl or measuring cup. Melt it in 20 to 30 increments in the microwave and stir after each session to make sure the soap is completely melted.
  • When the soap is melted, stir in 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice and the essential oils in.
  • Mix everything together and pour the mixture into a soap mold and allow it to sit in a cool setting for about 30 minutes to an hour until hardened.
  • Remove from the molds and hop in the shower, so you can enjoy your very own soap that you just concocted.

Before you use your soap, keep in mind that some people are allergic to cinnamon, which is one of the ingredients in the pumpkin pie spice. To prevent you from experiencing an allergic reaction, make sure you test it on a part of your skin to find out if your skin is comfortable with the ingredients.
